In partnership with Hisense Canada and Surf Giveaways, I led the technical delivery of a nationwide promotional campaign tied to the launch of NBA2K 2024 — aimed at boosting customer engagement through seamless product validation and reward entry.

The campaign invited customers to purchase Hisense products from major retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy), and scan receipts to enter for exclusive NBA2K prizes — all through a digital experience that had to feel instant, error-proof, and scalable.

  • Campaign Strategy Integration: Collaborated closely with the Hisense North America marketing team to align product goals, campaign milestones, and user experience outcomes.

  • OCR Feature Build: Engineered and deployed a robust OCR-based system capable of handling 110,000+ product validations, detecting retailer patterns, purchase metadata, and timestamps with high accuracy.

  • Multi-Retailer Compatibility: Designed flexible parsing logic to support image-based receipts across platforms, ensuring compatibility with major retailers and improving scan success rate.

  • Quality UX at Scale: Streamlined front-end flows and validation messaging to maximize conversion and minimize user drop-off, even under high-volume traffic.

This project was a showcase of how well-executed technical delivery — when aligned with marketing goals — can elevate a brand campaign from functional to unforgettable.

Achievements

The campaign drove record-breaking participation, elevated brand engagement, and created a frictionless experience that gave Hisense an edge in the consumer electronics space. By combining smart backend architecture with intuitive user flows, we helped solidify Hisense’s presence during one of the year’s most competitive marketing windows.
